Alison D. Vinci

September 5, 1966 - February 6, 2026

Born in Lebanon, Indiana

Beloved wife of Joe "Stretch" Vinci. Loving mom of Kimberly and Kristi. Dear sister of Sharon (the late Chuck) Hine, Brad (Donna) Scott and the late Greg Scott. Cherished daughter of the late Don W and the late Norma Scott. Fond aunt of Brian, Marisa, Andy, Mandy, Lisa and the late Katy.

Alison attended Zionsville High School in Indiana and performed in the Color Guard while also the Eagles Mascot and graduated in 1985. Alison then attended Ball State University and received an Associate's Degree in business. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Kappa Social Sorority.

She worked for Prudential Insurance in Indianapolis and later in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Growing up on Lake Shafer at her family's cottage at Lakewood Resort was always a weekend getaway. She spent several summers working at Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana as a Lifeguard and at their Roof Garden Lounge while coincidentally never meeting Joe while he worked at Indiana Beach in their Water Ski Show until The "Infamous Houseboat Trip" in June, 1993 when several mutual friends vacationing together introduced Alison and Joe. They met and vacationed together on that trip and instantly fell in Love, and became: "Stretch and Alison !"

10 months later the even more Infamous "Surprise Engagement live on the Oprah Winfrey TV show" happened in May 1994 with their parents and friends in the audience all being aware of the surprise, while Alison was clueless about it.

They were married October 7, 1995 in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Hickory Hills, Illinois. Alison worked in the insurance business till becoming a generous "Stay at Home MOM" in 2006.

This couple in love continued their passion for enjoying their own Lake Shafer vacation home while boating, waterskiing and spending time with an amazing friend group of neighbors on the lake.

The true blessing of daughters came in June 2002 with Kimberly, and then with Kristi in March 2004. Alison became a powerful and generous volunteer at her daughters schools in 2007 helping Brodnicki, Wilkins, Argo Community High School and Lewis University till Kimberly graduated Lewis University in 2024.

Alison's talented, remarkable skills in homemaking, crafts, and sewing created two lovely homes for her family. Their new Lake Shafer home was built in 2022 with Alison designing it as a beautiful large ranch style house as their forever home on Lake Shafer.

Alison was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in May 2024. "Fight Like A Girl " became her lighthearted, affectionate, beloved motto. Within 2 years, 22 rounds of Chemotherapy and multiple surgeries, Alison kicked it and Beat Cancer! 4 months later at age 59, Alison became God's Angel, ascending to almighty Heaven on Friday, February 6, 2026 due to complications of a surgery to reverse her ostomy.

Our Sweetest Angel Alison with a Contagious Smile complimenting her Glowing Personality which made everyone a better individual by knowing her. A Remarkably Caring Mother, and to more than just her two daughters. We Will Always LOVE YOU Alison. You will be Missed Forever.

Joe, Kimberly and Kristi,
So many memories, too many to write...we will treasure every memory from before marriage, before kids, before pontoon boats and to everything since. All the moments on and off the water - no matter what the weather and knowing even now "She ain't scared!" Love, Don, Kris, Kevin and Nicole
