MRS. MATTIE HELEN SHEFFIELD PEACOCK, age 92, formerly of Gray, GA, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA.

The family will receive friends and family in Mt. Ararat Freewill Baptist Church from 2:00PM-2:30PM Sunday, September 14. Funeral services will follow at 2:30PM Sunday, September 14, in Mt. Ararat Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Chris Adams and Mr. Jason Roland, with interment in Mt. Ararat Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mattie was born in Chauncey, GA on October 24, 1932, to the late Ethel Irene Jump Sheffield and Henry Andrew Sheffield. She was a homemaker, member of Gray Church of God in Gray, GA, and loved reading her bible. Her great joy in life was attending church, being with her family, and spending time praying for others. She loved gospel and country music. Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Felton C. Peacock, Sons, Tommy Peacock, Gene Peacock, and Terry Peacock, Sister, Geneva Pruett, and Brothers, H.A. Sheffield and Ricky Sheffield.

She is survived by her Daughters – Helen Roland, Judy Haskins, both of Gray, GA, and Janet Martin (Don) of Travelers Rest, SC; Son – Charles Peacock (Joyce) of Lizella, GA; 10 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, numerous Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sisters – Joann Vaughn (Henry) of McRae, GA and Henrietta Scarborough (Jimmy) of Chauncey, GA; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Mt. Ararat Freewill Baptist Church, 2219 Chauncey Rhine Hwy, Eastman, GA 31023.
