She was preceded in death by her father Jessie Spruill; her mother Lucy Spruill; her five brothers Jessie Spruill, James Spruill, Arthur Spruill, Walter Spruill, David Spruill, and sister Elaine Taylor.
Mattie married William Peele on January 7, 1961, and was gifted with three children. Mattie has been a dedicated Jehovah Witness for over 50 years. She genuinely enjoyed being with her family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild, and friends.
Mattie will be cherished and forever loved and remembered by her husband William Peele, her 3 children; Mary Raines, son in law Gordon Raines, Jerry Peele, daughter in law Marybeth Peele, and Jacqueline Peele, her five grandchildren; Qusiem Raines, fiancé Brittany Clark, Taanisha Raines, husband Arcturus Justice, Tarrelle Raines, Rajah Rucker, Khalil Rucker, 7 great-grandchildren; Amaia Raines, Amari Justice, Ayden Justice, Austin Justice, Ariyanna Justice, Bryson Raines, Cameron Raines, 1 great great grandson Eliah Raines, her sisters Beulah Lassiter, Bernadine Thornton, her brothers Steve Spruill, Earl Spruill and Jerry Spruill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was adored and will be forever missed!
