With heartfelt sorrow, the management-Eddie and Jackie Nelson-and the dedicated support staff of Nelson's Funeral Home announce the passing of Mrs. Mattie Smith, 70, of Jenkinsville, South Carolina.
Mrs. Smith departed this life on March 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and quiet strength. She devoted her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role in which she touched countless lives with patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication.
Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and commitment to helping those in need will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Please keep the Smith family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this season of grief and remembrance.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, 2:30 p.m. at The Rock Church, 12826 SC-HWY 215, Jenkinsville, South Carolina. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
