Mattie Catherine Speakes

MATTIE CATHERINE SPEAKES, age 76 of Nokesville, Virginia died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, Virginia. Mrs. Speakes was born October 15, 1928 in Brentsville, Virginia daughter of the late Jesse James and Tracy Spitzer Whetzel. She was a member of Brentsville Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and was also a member of the Prince William Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Speakes in 1970. Survivors include one daughter, Janice E. Speakes of Nokesville; two brothers, Frederick Whetzel of Fredericksburg and Casper R. Whetzel of Midland; six nephews and two nieces. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 15, 2005 at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday.
