Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mayo Funeral Home, Inc. - Berwick on Jan. 2, 2026.
Maureen A. (Mo) Andrzejewski, 87, of Berwick, entered into rest Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Berwick.
Maureen was born May 16, 1938 in
Pittston, PA, the daughter of the late Robert I. Redington and Adelaide J. (Clisham) Redington.
She was a graduate of Pittson Central Catholic High School (St. John's), Class of 1956.
While working at Consolidated Cigar in West Pittston, she met the love of her life, Walter R. Andrzejewski. They were married April 8, 1961 and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Berwick, where she participated in Bible Study. She also was a member of the quilters club, the Red Hatters, and enjoyed game nights with her friends.
Affectionately known as Mo to family and friends, she loved her simple life. She enjoyed get-togethers, and readily could turn a stranger into a friend in minutes. She loved baking, a passion she passed to her granddaughters. She loved rice pudding, but could never get the recipe right, time and time again. On Christmas throughout the years, she and her late son-in-law, Jon, would enjoy their eggnog (and we hope you both are enjoying it now!). Mo enjoyed playing cards, board games, and puzzles, relaxing on her porch swing, and eating ice cream. She especially cherished her family's annual trips to Ocean City Maryland.
Her greatest love in life was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. While life stole memories and opportunities, we know that her loving soul held and cuddled her great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Neilson; her brother-in-law, Max Neilson; and her son-in-law, Jon A. Morell, Jr.
Maureen (our Mo) is survived by her husband, Walter R. Andrzejewski; her daughters: Mara Morell, Lori Andrzejewski, and Diane Ruhmel and her husband, Scott, all of Berwick; three grandchildren: Dominic M. Morell and his partner, Kayla Sharer, Brennan R. Morell, and Bailey A. Bobkoskie; her great-granddaughter, Matilda Rose Morell and her gifted great-grandson, Greyson Sharer; and her dear friends, Sue and Jerry Seabridge.
We would like to thank the staff at Glen Brook that provided care, especially Jaiza, Nicole, Sherre, Candice, Laura, Jenn, Jenn F., and Dee Dee.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of funeral services at 4:00 P.M. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick, with Fr. William Barbee, her pastor, officiating.
The family asks that we all remember the laughter and love that was our amazing Maureen. Remember her smile and beautiful sparkling blue eyes. Remember and hold all that dementia tried to steal. Take a moment to remember a goofy, silly thing our beautiful Mo would say or do. Continue to share the love she gave.
The family suggests donations be made in Mo's memory to the
Alzheimer's Association, or to a
charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., Berwick.
