Maureen A. (Shaw) Burnham, age 77, beloved wife of the late Arthur W. Burnham died Friday, May 16, at Lowell General Hospital – Main Campus with her family by her side after a short period of declining health.
She was born in Medford, June 8, 1947, daughter of the late William S. and Margaret M. (Conway) Shaw. She grew up in Billerica before moving to the Pawtucketville section of Lowell 56 years ago.
Maureen graduated from Billerica Memorial High School with the class of 1965 and went on to a long career as a buyer with AGFA Corporation. She was a member of St. Theresa Church while living in Billerica and then a member of St. Rita's Parish in Lowell.
Maureen is survived by one daughter, Hope Eacrett of Lowell; one son, Derek P. Burnham and his wife Gayle of Lowell; one brother, William J. Shaw and his wife Tracy of Billerica; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Burnham of Lowell; her brother-in-law Ralph Berrett as well as five grandchildren, Matthew, David, Abigail, Zachary and Allison; six great-grandchildren, Quinn, Deacon, Caleb, Raegan, Sadie and Leona; two nephews, Ralph and Michael; and her best friend Jo-Ann Ruiter. She was the mother of the late Arthur A. Burnham; grandmother of the late Natalie Eacrett; sister of the late Patricia Berrett; and aunt of the late Disa Berrett and William Shaw, Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Interment in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
