Maureen "Renie" Kelly of Hatboro passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2024 with her beloved daughter Kait by her side. Born in Philadelphia, Renie was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Rifkin) and William "Bill" Kelly, Sr., her brother William "Billy" Kelly, Jr., and her cherished pup Sampson.
Renie joined PECO Energy after graduating from Hatboro-Horsham High School. She loved her job and thrived in her career, working her way up to Senior Account Manager in Large Account Services. She reluctantly retired at 59 after more than forty years of service. Renie loved gardening, spending time with her friends and family, children, the beach (especially Ocean City, N.J.), going on adventures, and watching Bravo TV. She was her extended family's legacy genealogist and never forgot a card for a birthday, a special occasion or "just because."
Renie will forever be remembered as an outstanding mother, a loving Mom-Mom, and a selfless friend. She always greeted everyone with a smile and made them feel welcome. She was a lifelong caregiver, generous, full of fun, witty, and unabashedly herself. She endured treatments for breast and metastatic breast cancer for more than thirty years and was a true example of bravery and perseverance in her battle to live. Maureen is survived by her daughter Kathryn "Kait" Kelly, her surrogate daughters Nina and Jen, and her grandchildren Annmarie, Adriana, Suzy and Jeremy. She is also survived by many friends and cousins.
Family, friends and PECO retirees will be received by Renie's family on Thursday, June 20, 2024 after 12 p.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Rd, Hatboro and are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Her Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montgomery County S.P.C.A., 19 E. Ridge Pike, PO Box 222 Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222 or HERE
