Maureen Patil Obituary
ALBANY - Maureen Patil of Albany, N.Y., age 77, left an enduring legacy of love and resilience after a courageous life living with Parkinson's disease on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
She was a devoted mother to Jaineen Patil-Thurber (Mark), she was a guiding light to her grandchildren, Justin Pabon (Margaret), Juliano Pabon (Malon), Francesca Palma (Avery), Angelo Palma; and she was a cherished great-grandmother to several little ones. Maureen was the eldest sibling to her beloved sisters and brother, Eileen Walsh, Sharon Tomaszewski (Dan) and Brian Johnson (Daniel). She was predeceased by the late Dr. Jaygonda Patil. Later in life, Maureen embarked on a new journey with her second marriage to Francis McCune (Brian, Danielle).
With a deep passion for animals, wildlife, and exploration, Maureen's zest for life inspired all who knew her. As a loyal friend and compassionate listener, she touched countless lives, always giving generously without expectation of return, leaving behind a profound impact that will be deeply felt.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Maureen's family Thursday, January 23, 2025, 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, N.Y. 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral services Friday, January 24, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 125 Eagle St., Albany, N.Y. 12202, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by The Very Rev'd. My condolences to Maureen's family & friends. I am Frank NcCune's cousin & Maureen was the love of his life & his everything. He drove an hour each way to visit her nearly every day in her last weeks. She will always be loved & never be forgotten.

My condolences. Maureen worked for NYS of Office of Mental Health for many years as a Secretary, when I met her she was also the Secretary for our Local CSEA Union. She was very involved in equal rights for the workers. I also went on union trips with her, we had fun. She was a very kind person who loved her family. Rest in peace dear friend.
