Maureen Piston

Maureen Piston, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She was the loving wife of John Piston.
Raised in the Roxborough / Manayunk area, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Jara. She enjoyed careers in media and publishing, and contributed to a book on critical thinking. An avid learner, she earned degrees in Journalism, as well as Library and Information Sciences.
Maureen enjoyed classic rock music, horror movies, puzzle books, boat rides, and family trips to New York City, Ocean City, NJ, and Williamsburg, VA. She will be remembered by her family for her warm smile, sense of humor, and excellent Polish cooking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jennifer and Joseph, and their spouses; siblings Eileen, Geraldine, Dennis, and Richard; her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Robert.
