Maureen Wallace Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home - Ponte Vedra Beach on Jan. 18, 2025.
Maureen Christina Wallace, affectionately known as Moms Wallace and Grams, was born on October 28, 1946, in the Bronx, New York, and passed away peacefully at home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, on January 15, 2025, at the age of 78.
Maureen was the only child of Bridget Matilda (Tillie) Corless and Charles Anthony Milner. She was the beloved wife of John Wallace, devoted mother to Bryan, Michael, and Scott, and cherished grandmother to Aidan, Vincent, Lola, Savannah, Scarlett, Veronica, and Frankie.
A spiritual leader at St. Augustine's Parish in New City, New York, Maureen was dedicated to her family as a full-time mom. She loved reading, writing, and singing the praises of Jesus. She was a tireless advocate for her husband, children, and all those she loved. Every moment was a cause for celebration, and she was the consummate host and party thrower, bringing joy and warmth to every gathering.
Maureen was a source of profound wisdom. Her insights, lovingly known as "Momisms" by her family, guided and inspired those around her. Some of her treasured sayings included: "God works straight through crooked lines," "To everything there is a season," and "Take the ball on the hop."
Maureen's love was unconditional. She welcomed everyone with open arms, embracing them for who they were and inspiring them to be their authentic selves. Her faith, generosity, and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Services to honor Maureen's life and legacy will be held as follows:
• Visitation: Monday, January 20th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home.
• Funeral Mass: Tuesday, January 21st, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, followed by burial at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home & Cemetery.
• Celebration of Life: Tuesday, January 21st, at 3:00 PM at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club.
Maureen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
