Maurice J. Edwards, age 77, of Flushing, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. Maurice will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan with Military Honors. Maurice was born on January 27, 1949, in Lansing, Michigan to the late James & Betty Lou (Damrell) Edwards. He graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing. Maurice was drafted into the United States Marine Corp. and served in the Vietnam War. During his deployment he contracted Malaria and was sent home. He then enlisted in the United States Army once healed; and proudly served his country once again.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Edwards; 3 grandchildren, Raevyn, Lillian and Lucas; his brother, Steven Edwards; nephew, Christopher Edwards and niece, Alisa Clifton. Maurice is further survived by many other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene K. Edwards.
