Maurice Moore

Maurice Anthony Moore, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

He was born on September 13, 1959, to Minerva Jane Angel Moore and Billy Moore in Bowling Green, KY. After attending kindergarten at the State Street Baptist Church under the directorship of Mrs. Bessie Jones, Maurice was educated in the Warren County School System at Delafield Elementary and Warren Central High School, graduating in 1977. While in high school, he played the saxophone in Warren Central High School's "Warren Central Dragon Band."

After high school, he attended Western KY University, where he played in the band. He decided to withdraw from the university and then worked at Cutler-Hammer. Maurice then worked for Mrs. Corrine Parker's lawn care service. He moved to Lexington, KY, in the late 90's after his father passed. Maurice was soon employed at J.C. Penny in receiving and distribution, and at Winn-Dixie Grocer as a bagger simultaneously. Due to his exemplary work ethic, a vacancy opened, and he was employed as one of the store's assistant managers. He remained with Winn-Dixie until all the stores closed in Lexington. He was then employed at several Kroger stores until an unexpected illness occurred.

Maurice enjoyed working in his yard as well as his sister's, keeping both in immaculate condition.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing, a loving son, Mario D. Parker, two grandsons, Kamrin and Kainen Parker, a bonus grandson, Kash Forbis, a devoted big sister, Donna Moore, and a loving and caring companion, Brenda Marshall, as well as a host of family and friends.
