Maurice Terrell Washington was born on April 4, 1966, to Ernest Washington and Lue B. Washington in Sikeston, Missouri. He was educated in the Kansas City public schools and graduated from Central High School in 1984. Maurice met and married Theresa Jones in 1996. They had no children during their union. Maurice enjoyed cooking, shopping, and most of all, he especially loved the Christmas holidays. He was a generous gift-giver. He also enjoyed his extracurricular activities working with the children in the church.
One of his favorite pastimes was attending church and singing in the choir. He loved the Lord. Maurice departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024. His parents, grandparents Watson and Mary Taylor, and his brother Michael Washington all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Milton E. Washington, and his sister, Ernestine "Teena" Washington Bojang, along with his brother-in-law, Buba Bojang, all of Kansas City, Missouri. His special helpers, who were always available when he called, include Thelma White, Mil’Brysha Washington, Isaeic L. Washington, and Tramisha Washington. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a host of special longtime friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Golden Gate located at 2800 East 18th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64127. Interment will be in Brooking Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The visitation will bbegin at 9:00 AM.
