Graveside services for Maurine Masterson will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery at 1 pm in Pittsburg on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home from 10 to noon Thursday prior to the service.
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, passed away at her home, surrounded by family on April 13, 2025 at the age of 91 yrs.
Maurine was born in Pittsburg, Texas on June 3, 1933. Her loving parents, Charlie Wicker Barnes and Effie Mae Kizer Barnes have welcomed her to heaven.
She will be joining her husband and her friend Ken Masterson, her sisters: Vera Mae, Doris, Verbie and her brothers: Lloyd, Edward, and Gene. Also waiting to meet her are her very special Indiana in-laws from whom she was always treated like part of the family, a sister.
Maurine is survived by her daughter Janet Splawn and Tommie of Kilgore, her son Ken Masterson and Stephanie of Longview. Also, her extra daughter Jesse Savel, whom she dearly loved. She leaves 3 grandsons: David and Krissy Splawn of Henderson, Brian Splawn and Stacey of Kilgore, Justin and Stephanie Masterson of Liberty City. She is leaving 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Maurine is also survived by her very dear friend Ruth Reynolds of Arlington, Texas. They have been best friends for 72 years, even though they were miles apart for most of them. They always stayed in contact with each other.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a few cousins, and many, many friends.
