Mavis Mullen Obituary

Mavis E. Mullen, 96, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday evening, August 17, 2025 after a brief illness. She was born on April 17, 1929 to the late Arling Ellis and Wonnie Stone Ellis. She has made Lake City her home since 2003 and was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and shopping with her daughter. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Garcia; her son, Arling Mullen; her brothers, JR Ellis & Art Ellis and her sister, Marie Ellis.
She is survived by her two sons, Gene Mullen (Amanda) and Gary Mullen; daughter, Margie Domingue; brothers, Jerry Ellis and Grover Ellis (Carol); and one sister, Joann Sponable (AL). Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A celebration of Mrs. Mullen's life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S. US HWY 441, Lake City, FL, 32025, 386-752-1954. Please leave words of comfort for the family at www.gatewayforestlawn.com.
