Mavoline King Dalton, age 94, of Detroit, AL, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 11:00am at Kingsville Church of Christ with burial to follow in Kingsville Cemetery. Mr. Jimmy Brumley and Mr. Dave Brumley to officiate. The body will lie in state at the church prior to funeral services from 10:00am until 11:00am. Visitation will be held in the Otts Funeral Home Parlor on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kingsville Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 107, Detroit, AL 35552.

Mavoline was born on March 28, 1931 in Detroit, AL to the late Marvin King and the late Annie Holloway King. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and later graduated with a teaching degree from Florence State in Florence, AL. Mavoline taught at Guin and Hamilton schools for 40 years. She was a former member of Detroit Fire and Rescue Squad and was known to be an avid Alabama football fan. Mavoline enjoyed cooking her famous fried pies and working crossword puzzles, but what she truly loved the most was spending time with her family whom she adored. Her bright smile and giving heart will always be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
