Edward Max Becknell, age 83, husband of Shirley (Matlock) Becknell, of Harrodsburg KY died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at home in Harrodsburg KY. Born April 30, 1942 in Booneville, KY to the late Shafter and Martha (Ross) Becknell. Max was a member of Aberdeen Baptist Church, a Kentucky Coronel and was a retired Horse Farrier. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, showing Tennessee Walking Horse (which he has done since the 60's) and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Becknell two sons: Keith (Tracie) Becknell of Kingsport, TN and Doug (Kelley) Becknell of Burgin, KY; two brothers: Randall (Jean) Becknell of Manchester, KY and Ronnie (Karen) Becknell of Tyner, KY; five grandchildren; Allison (Tyler) Baucom, Hunter Becknell, Hayden Becknell, Blake Becknell and Matthew McQuerry; two great grandchildren; Bryson Baucom and Harper McQuerry; and several nieces and nephews.

Max is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The graveside service will be held 1pm on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Burgin Memorial Gardens, 249 Buster Pike, Harrodsburg KY, 40330 with Jacob Bryant officiating.

Memorials have been suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN, 38105.
