Max Eugene Bridgford, age 85, of Indianapolis, passed away in the early morning hours of May 10, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Max was born on April 1, 1933 to William Glenn Francis Bridgford and Elizabeth Wilkins Bridgford in Beech Grove, IN. He was a 1951 graduate of Franklin Central High School and a 1953 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. In September of 1953, he was drafted into the United States Army. Max retired from Ford Motor Company with over 42 years of service. He was also a charter member of the Indiana Auctioneers Association. Survivors include his brother Rex L. Bridgford (Dot) of Shelby Co., IN; Sons, Harvey R. Bridgford (Beth) of Indianapolis and Whitney G. Bridgford (Shaune) of Shepherdsville, KY; daughters, LaChrista D. Klosterkemper of Greensburg, Tandy B. Lewis (Mark) of Stephenville, TX and Tracie E. Wilson of Indianapolis; stepson, Glen R. Gerholdt (Cathy) of Shelbyville; stepdaughter, Beverly D. Songer (Ron) of Indianapolis; daughter in-law, Renita Gerholdt and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karen Zentz Bridgford, a stepson, Jeffrey A. Gerholdt and a stepdaughter, Teresa L. King. Funeral services for Max Bridgford will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 11:00 AM at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Stirling Gerber Chapel. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, May 15, from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at Acton Cemetery in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Max E. Bridgford's memory be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
