Max Eugene Johnson, Age 83 of Medina, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was born in 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ada Johnson. He was immediately adopted and loved by his adoptive parents, Tom and Kate (Newton) Johnson, also deceased. Max was a proud member of the Seven Hills Police department for many years, retiring in 1993. In addition, he worked for 37 years as an electrical technologist for Union Carbide Company/UCAR Carbon Company and Morganite Industries. He loved his family, friends, dogs, cats, jokes, cowboys and his John Deere tractor. He will be greatly missed by Melody Ann Johnson, his wife of 29 years; son, Donald (Mary Lou) Johnson of Seven Hills; grandchildren Sara Johnson-Kerber of Broadview Heights, Katie (Matt) Kemmann of Brunswick; great-grandchildren Ryan, Logan, Amber, and Grant; brother-in-law, Ed (Kathy) Shinabery of Knoxville, TN; nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Tracy A. Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th Street, Cleveland, OH 44119 or the Medina County SPCA, 8790 Guilford Road, Seville, OH 44273. Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 RIDGE ROAD, PARMA, OH 44129. Max's ashes will be interred at a later date. 440-842-7800

Max, will be missed and lovingly remembered forever as my father. He gave me something that no one can take away, his confidence and love. He loved everyone with all kinds of heart. I was lucky to have him as my dad.
