Max Klein Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tuttle Funeral Home from Dec. 30 to Dec. 31, 2025.
Max F. Klein, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains. He was born in Winkeldorf, Germany to the late Frank and Anna Klein. Max served as a Toxicologist for Schering-Plough (now Merck), located in Lafayette, New Jersey.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of more than 60 years, Ingrid, who passed away on January 3, 2025. They were active residents of Frelinghuysen Township, living in the house they designed and built for more than 55 years. Max loved to do work around the house, tend to his garden, and take care of his five acres of wooded property.
Max contributed to his rural community as a member of the zoning board for many years. He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and contributed to local Ridge and Valley conservation projects and supported the Paulinskill Valley Trail Association.
He was a longtime member of Germania Park in Dover, NJ, where he both volunteered and enjoyed the food, drink, and dancing at many an Oktoberfest. He also marched in the German-American Steuben Parade in New York City.
Max is survived by his son Rolf and wife Susan, his son Tom and partner Ariane Bicho, and his grandchildren Jacob, Danny, Swan and Ethan. He is also survived by his brothers Bernie and his wife Pam, Frank and his wife Bev, and David and his wife Patti.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (www.tuttlefh.com), with a Service at 12:30PM.
