Obituary of Maximo Ortega
Maximo Ortega, age 21, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 5, 2025, in New Lenox. Maximo was born on July 30, 2004 in Naperville, IL, the son of Marcelo and Maria Ortega. He was a graduate of Plainfield South High School Class of 2023.
Max was full of life, love, and laughter. At just 21 years old, Max touched everyone he met with his kind heart, bright smile, and joyful spirit. He was always there for others, offering support, love, and encouragement to anyone in need.
Max loved music, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends. His energy could light up any room, and his presence brought happiness and warmth to all who knew him.
Maximo is survived by his parents, Marcelo and Maria Ortega; his siblings, Jairo Ortega, Astazie Ortega, and Jason Ortega.
Funeral Services for Maximo Ortega will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
