Maximo Rosa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shook-Farmer Funeral Home Roseland, nj on Jan. 21, 2026.
Maximo A. Rosa "Tony," 83, of Toms River, passed away on January 18, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, New Jersey 07068. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, New Jersey. Private cremation will follow. Condolences and memories may be shared at shookfarmer.com.

Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Maximo came to the United States with his family at the age of eleven, settling in Newark, New Jersey. He later married and spent most of his life in Nutley before relocating to Toms River approximately four years ago.

Tony was a dedicated and hardworking professional who built a long career in

engineering. He was employed at REF Industries in Midland Park, New Jersey, and later at Precision Gear in Corona, New York. Known for his strong work ethic and reliability, he was a quiet role model who led by example. Outside of work, Maximo was a true tinkerer at heart. A skilled do-it-yourself enthusiast, he took great pride in home projects and enjoyed helping family members build, repair, and improve things around their homes. He also enjoyed boating in his leisure time and appreciated the calm and simplicity of life's quieter moments. Above all else, Maximo was a devoted family man.

He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and found his greatest joy in being present for those he loved. He was gentle, steady, and mellow by nature, leaving a lasting impression through his kindness and dependability.

He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Celeste Rosa; his beloved wife, Jennie

Salvatoriello Rosa; and his brother, Angel A. Rosa.

Tony is survived by his loving sons, Anthony Rosa and his wife, Lynn, and William Rosa and his wife, Lisa; his cherished grandchildren, Gabriella Rosa, Salvatore Rosa, Adriana Rosa, and Anthony Rosa, Jr.; and his sister, Bairma Garretson, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
