Michael Rosa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home on Jan. 8, 2026.
Michael Andrew Rosa, 60, of Glastonbury and formerly West Hartford, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 26. Born on June 20, 1965, he is survived by his loving mother, Anna Manicone Boulden of Springfield, MA, his beloved brother, Alfred N. Rosa and wife Jill, and nieces and nephew Madeleine, Lillian, and Charles of Lexington, MA. His father, Gerard Rosa, predeceased him recently.
Michael was raised in West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School in 1983. He earned a B.F.A. At the University of Connecticut as a cello major and enrolled in graduate studies at Ryokan College, CA, earning a Masters of Counseling Psychology. He began his professional counseling career at The Maple Counseling Center and later returned to the east coast for further studies and advancement.
Michael was currently employed by the Holyoke Public School System as a Para-educator and Registered Behavior Technician for autistic children at the William G. Morgan Elementary School, working both in elementary grades and with private family clients. He combined these activities with a deep devotion to classical concerts throughout New England and New York City, the product of his early music vocation, attending as many as his time would allow. He was also a sports enthusiast.
Michael was a dedicated professional, admired and esteemed by his colleagues and young clients, who are devastated by the loss of his talent and warmth. He was much more than a skilled therapist, applying his knowledge and insights for the benefit of a host of children with unwavering enthusiasm and affection. As a well-loved son, brother and uncle, as a friend and colleague, he will be sorely missed for his beautiful qualities of mind and soul.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 11:00AM, at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford, 06107, to be followed by a private reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Autism Society of America. For directions, online memory or condolence, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com
