Many people took pride in referring to Maxine with titles such as mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, and confidant, but most importantly, she carried the title of being loved.
Maxine was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on January 15th, 1936 to Theodore “Ted” and Margaret “Maxine” Reber.
Maxine felt a passion for many things. She loved fashion, and enjoyed getting all dressed up. She was rarely caught without her beautifully done hair and make-up, and she always made sure her high heels matched her handbag. She loved to travel and explore new places. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and would always win so gracefully. She was an excellent cook, and always loved entertaining family and friends. Maxine was a kind and gentle woman who would gladly give the shirt off her back, if only to make someone smile. She will be remembered for her heart that overflowed with love, and her fun sense of humor.
Maxine felt joy when she could do something for another person. This joy shone through while becoming a phlebotomist, attending to children as the school nurse, but that joy radiated the brightest when taking care of her family. Her family was the center of her universe.
The most important thing she dedicated her life to, was her family. She had an indescribable love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. If there was ever a family member that needed a helping hand, she would be the first one there to lend her loving hand. She loved hearing about what was going on in the lives of her family members, and it brought her great pride to see her family happy.
Maxine is survived by her brother, Teddy “Chuck” (Connie) Reber, beloved children: Laura (Rich) DeRuiter, Paul (Debbie) Aarestad, Paulette (Craig) Mottl, and Tim (LeAnn) Aarestad; her 9 loved grandchildren: Craig “CJ” (Tiffany) Mottl, Kirsten (Kevin ) Sobehrad, Michael (Amanda) DeRuiter, Bryan (Tera) DeRuiter, Marie DeRuiter, Alyssa (Fiancé DJ Huzjak) Aarestad, Brett Aarestad, Kyle (Chelsey) Aarestad, and Tessa Horning; and 7 great grand Children: Brinklee, Ainsley, Brystol, Landen, Brycen, Ivy, and Willow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore “Ted” and Margaret “Maxine” Reber, and her Aunt Donna Herzog.
