Maxine Ammons

Maxine Dudley Ammons left us on October 15, 2025, to join her beloved son Randall Lee Ammons and her siblings Howard, Peggy, and Roberta.

A memorial service will be held on 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Cleburne, Texas. Those who knew her are invited to join in celebrating a remarkable woman whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of many. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Plaza Theatre in lieu of floral tributes.

Born on November 15, 1942, in Birmingham, Kentucky, Maxine was 82 years old when she passed away at her home in Cleburne, Texas.

Maxine was a devoted mother to her three children, a loving grandmother to six grandchildren, and a proud great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Family was always at the center of her world, and she created cherished memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

An active member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church, Maxine found joy in serving her community. She was especially involved in the church’s annual pumpkin patch and many other outreach activities. Beyond the church, Maxine made a lasting impact on the city of Cleburne—helping bring the Plaza Theatre to life and serving on its board. She also served as President of the Downtown Cleburne Association and founded the beloved Spring Carnival. Her vision and energy helped shape downtown Cleburne, and her influence will continue to be felt in the homes she restored and the many lives she touched.

Maxine is survived by her daughter Ronda Ammons and son Robert Ammons; her grandchildren Cassidy Cooper, Gaston Ammons, Beckett Wray, Caden Ammons, Truitt Ammons, and Micah Ammons; and her six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Ann Spohn, Linda Dudley, Patsy Carbonette, Barbara McCutcheon, and Patricia Garner.

Maxine’s warmth, determination, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and community will live on through those she so dearly loved.
