Maxine M. Armstrong, 96, of Marked Tree, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas. She was born April 2nd, 1928, in Marked Tree, Arkansas where she spent her entire life. She was the daughter of Clyde and Leo Thornton.
Maxine worked at American Greetings in Osceola, Arkansas before retirement and will be remembered for spending time with her family, picking up pecans, reading books and watching John Wayne westerns. She was a dedicated member of the Broadway Street church of Christ, where she was loved by all.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years: Joe Armstrong, two sons: Danny Armstrong and Manuel Armstrong, one daughter: Dodie Armstrong Byrd and one grandchild: Vance Armstrong
She is survived by one son: Mike (Doris) Armstrong of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one daughter: Shelia McCorkle of Tyronza, Arkansas, one daughter in law: Sandy Armstrong of Dumas, Arkansas, twelve grandchildren: Donna, Karen, Becky, Rachel, Leslie, Joey, Chris, Shane, Katelyn, Stephanie, Kim, and Deanna Jo, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. all at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas.
Interment will follow funeral service in Marked Tree Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home/Marked Tree.
