Maxine Marie Berden of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, with her family by her side. She was 80 years old. Maxine Marie Badgero was born on September 16, 1942, in Melvin, Michigan, to the late Clinton C. and Golda M. (Higgins) Badgero. She was proud 1960 graduate of Sandusky High School. Maxine, while in school she met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, James Leland Berden. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 17, 1961. Together, Maxine and James devoted their lives to raising their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful and longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was instrumental in organizing and volunteering her time with the white elephant sale, yearly fall bazaars, and cooking for numerous funeral luncheons. Maxine held a special place in her heart for all animals, especially the many cats and dogs she cared for over the years. The roll of her lifetime was to be a loving devoted wife, and a treasured and cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and attending any of their schooling and sporting events. Maxine will forever be remembered for her selflessness to anyone in need, her strength, wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, and for living a truly incredible life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Maxine is survived by 29 children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Berden; parents Clinton and Golda Badgero; brother, Ray C. Badgero.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road. Rev. Philomena Ofori-Nipaah will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Honoring Maxine's wishes cremation will follow. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Second Presbyterian Church.
