Maxine Yvonne Bononcini, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, teacher, and faithful woman of God.
Maxine was the kind of person who made everyone feel loved. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and the way she always put others before herself. Cleaning was her peace - she found comfort in keeping everything spotless and just right, always wanting things perfect for the people she loved. Her home was her haven, a reflection of her care, pride, and generous heart.
She dedicated much of her life to teaching, sharing not only skills but life lessons. Maxine was a typing and home economics teacher, helping students learn practical skills, patience, and the value of doing things with love and purpose. Her humor and caring nature made her a favorite among her students and colleagues alike.
Family was the center of Maxine's world. She lovingly cared for all of her grandchildren until they began preschool - and they were all better for it. Her love, patience, and joyful spirit helped shape their early years, and her influence will stay with them forever.
Maxine was an incredible cook who poured her heart into every dish. Mexican food was her specialty - her pozole, tamales, red chile cheese enchiladas, and amazing beans were legendary among family and friends. Her kitchen was always filled with laughter, good smells, and love. She passed her passion for cooking down to her sons, teaching them that food was one of the most genuine ways to show love.
She had the best stories and could talk for hours about her adventures. Maxine and her husband Eddie went all over the place together, making beautiful memories throughout their 50 wonderful years of marriage. She loved watching game shows and sports, especially cheering (and sometimes yelling) at her beloved Dallas Cowboys, who provided her with plenty of Sunday excitement. Her laughter was contagious, her faith unwavering, and her compassion endless.
She was married to the love of her life, Eddie Bononcini, for 50 beautiful years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and faith. Eddie passed away nearly five years ago on November 7, but their love remains everlasting.
Maxine is survived by her sons, Eddie A. Bononcini and Eric Bononcini, and her beloved grandchildren, Zach, Anna, Basil, and Zoey, who were her greatest joy. She was also the last of the Roybals, a family she cherished deeply and carried proudly in her heart.
Maxine had many dear friends who adored her and will forever remember her kindness, humor, and giving spirit. To know her was to love her - and her love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, with a Rosary to begin at 9:30 a.m., and Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m., at St. Jude’s Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW - Albuquerque, NM 87114.
