Maxine M. Dempster

MAPLETON: Maxine M. Dempster, 81, passed away July 7, 2025 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after an extended illness, Mom passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Mom was born November 26, 1943 in Waterbury, CT., the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Harris) Cote. She worked at Aroostook
Shoe and Converse Shoe Co. many years ago, she was also the owner of Max's car wash named after her black chow Max. She mostly was a devoted mother and grandmother. Maxine is survived by her husband of 67 years Anthony "Tony" Dempster of Mapleton, three children; Todd Dempster and his wife Tammy of Mapleton, Robin Stetson and her husband Todd of Herman, Carla Brewer-Pendexter and her husband Trevor of Washburn, five grandchildren; Kayla Brewer, Carvor Pendexter, Devon Stetson, Ethan Stetson and TJ Dempster, two step-grandchildren, Trevor ll and Ethan Pendexter. She also has two great grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Charette and her husband Edwin of Ashland, several nieces and nephews. We would like to give a special thank you to Kayla, Maxine's only granddaughter for her love, dedication, and being the best nurse for many years to her grandmother. We would like to give our sincere thank you to Kirsten Darrell at Pines, Kirsten our mom appreciated you, and felt so taken care of, thank you, also the staff at Northern Light AR Gould, and Maine Medical Center. Maxine was predeceased by her mother Evelyn, and her father Robert, three brothers; Delbert, Paul, and Billy Cote and three sisters Sharon, Tina, and Joanna. There will be no services. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Presque Isle.
