Maxine Louise (Giles) Ellsaesser, 101, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Satanta Long Term Care in Satanta, Kansas. She was born on August 19, 1923, to Charles Louis and Louzelle Lenore (Freeman) Giles in Garden City, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Chester Clay "Chuck" Ellsaesser on April 21,1944, at Richmond, Virginia with the blessings of her parents.
Upon honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Chuck and Maxine moved to Sublette, Kansas where they loved and farmed for many years. In addition to the time spent farming and raising children, Maxine enjoyed sewing, crafting, flower gardening, and games of all kinds. Bridge was her favorite, but she also enjoyed Pinochle, Scrabble, and many others.
She is survived by three children, Jerrilyn Rudisill and husband Wayne of Whitney, TX, Genita Parr and husband Nick of Bucklin, KS, and Rick Ellsaesser and wife Sheila of Charlotte, NC; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Weidensaul of Wichita, KS, Nita (Birney) McDaniel of Ovilla, Tx, Marjorie (Leonard) Roxstrom of Mount Vernon, WA, and Gary Giles and wife Suzanne of Seaford, VA;
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louzelle Giles; husband, Chuck Ellsaesser; infant grandson, Stacy Wayne Connor; siblings, Cpl. Marvin Giles, Vera Marie Giles, and Charles E. Giles.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Haskell County Cemetery, with lunch following the service at the Haskell County Museum.
