Maxine George, age 68 of Fruitland, NM passed away on Thursday September 4th, 2025. She was born on February 6th, 1957, in Crownpoint, NM to Willie and Josephine Blackie.
Maxine was a home maker, a gardener, a weaver and enjoyed herding sheep. Mom took pride in teaching her children and grandchildren to live in harmony. She enjoyed helping others when they needed help.
Maxine is preceded in death by her son Venton George.
Maxine is survived by her husband Vern George, her sons Vincent and Verlin George, her daughters Starla Neal, Barbra George, Beulah George and Vernetta Wood, 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters.
Serving as pallbearers are, Gordon Blackie, Vincent George, Ethan George, Jeff Wood, Rico Munoz and Daniel Cannon
Services for Maxine are scheduled for Wednesday September 10th, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Farmington Funeral home (2111 W Apache St, Farmington NM) Burial is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens (6918 E Main St., Farmington New Mexico) A reception will be held the same day at Inspired moments event center (310 W Main St. Farmington, NM) from 4:30 pm -6:30 pmĀ
