Maxine Roberts Klick, 90, died on October 3, 2022, in Monroe, Louisiana, after an extended illness.
Maxine was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, Luther Klick, on August 15, 1948. She graduated from Kilbourne High School and received an associate degree in Business Administration. Maxine was employed by the Ouachita Parish School Board for 45 years where she was the first friendly face seen by all new teachers. She was an active member of Southside United Methodist Church, and then later First United Methodist Church in West Monroe where she participated in the choir. Some of her fondest memories were playing cards with beloved friends and her husband Luther. Maxine loved hosting parties and showers where she would make her famous "Butter Rum Pound Cake". She loved watching her children, David and Lori, participating in sports. At Maxine's heart were her grandchildren Zachary and Sydney.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Luther Klick; parents Nichol and Estelle Roberts; siblings Chris Brown, Milton Roberts, Bertha Mae Smith, and Mary Rose Capers.
She is survived by her children David Klick (wife Kristi) of Plano, Texas, and Lori White (husband Danny) of Monroe; grandchildren Zachary Klick, Sydney Klick, Sarah Coble (husband Todd) and great-granddaughter Danielle Coble.
The family would like to say a big thank you to her caregiver and friend, Toni Page, and the staff at Avalon Place.
Funeral service will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM.Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery on HWY 80 in Monroe. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist – West Monroe or an organization of your choice.
