Maxine Marie Laird, age 87, passed away peacefully Jan. 27, 2026, with her husband, and family by her side.
Maxine was born in
Bedford, Iowa Oct. 09, 1938. After her high school graduation, she moved to Idaho and went to Beauty school and graduated. She then married Larry Laird and had three children, Barbara, Larry, and Mariea. During that time, she loved doing perms, and coloring hair, so her family's hair was well taken care of all the time.
After time went on Maxine found new things she enjoyed doing. She became a baker for different schools, and a grocery store. In her spare time, she also helped a local caterer, prepare dishes for weddings, barbecues, private dinners, parties, and similar events. Maxine baked and decorated many Birthday and wedding cakes over the years for different people. She also taught her daughter's, and granddaughter's, how to bake and decorate cakes. Maxine was put in the Newspaper and won $50.00 for one of her many baking inventions. The recipe was the shortage of zucchini.
Maxine was a sorority sister in the Beta Sigma-fi and held many offices throughout her years. The current picture of her is her being crowned queen of Beta Sigma-fi. She shared many times to the family that she really enjoyed the group and enjoyed the activities they all did together. She also held office in the Lady Elks as President.
