Maxine Bowers Tillman

Maxine Bowers Tillman, 86, of Goldston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, surrounded by family.

Maxine was born in Chatham County on June 17th, 1938, to the late William Isaac and Eva Thompson Bowers. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Jean Bowers, and Margaret Thornburg; three brothers, Ralph Bowers, Sherman Bowers, and J.C. Bowers.

She loved to travel and discover new places. In her past time, she loved playing rook, working in her yard, and going to car events with her husband, Jack. Maxine loved her family and spending time with them and making many wonderful memories. She was the Bookkeeper and Office Manager for 46 years at Miller Heating & Air in Goldston.

Maxine is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Tillman of Goldston; and several nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17th, 2024, at 11 am, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel in Siler City. Visitation will be held Friday evening, August 16th, 2024, from 6-8 pm, at Smith & Buckner Chapel. Burial will be Saturday after the service at Hickory Mountain Chapel, 201 Hadley Mill Rd., Pittsboro, NC 27312. Services will be officiated by Reverend Bill Hart and Reverend Ed Carter.
