Maxwell Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farewell Funeral Service - Palm Bluffs on Feb. 16, 2026.
Maxwell Atticus Thompson, 16, was born June 9, 2009 in Fresno, CA and died February 5, 2026. His parents are Troy & Tara Thompson and he shared his parents with 3 younger sisters: Macy, Emma, Elloise and 1 younger brother, Axel.

Max attended River Bluff Elementary, Rio Vista Middle School and was a Junior at Garza High School of Central Unified School District. Max often did well in the classroom, frequently putting smiles on his parents faces with straight A's on his report card. His love for reading was recognized at River Bluff, where he received the Award for Reading the Most Pages. He also enjoyed participating on the Tennis Team at Rio Vista and Garza.

Max found a lot of joy in life being in the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking in Yosemite, time with his Grandpa Bill in Trinidad and his Grandfather Randy at Shaver Lake. Other ways Max enjoyed spending his time were video games, playing tennis and drawing. He was always up for a good Board Game, especially if he could put his critical thinking skills at work, like Risk & Chess.

Max will be deeply missed by his parents - Troy and Tara; his siblings - Macy, Emma, Elloise and Axel; his grandmother - Gran Beverly Lidholm & Grandpa Brian Haskins; his grandfather - Randy Lidholm; and his grandparents - Grandpa Bill & Grandma Anita Thompson, and Grandma Judie Neufeld and Gramps Willard. Max would be disappointed if Ginger, his cat, was left off his list of remembrances, she was very special too.

A service of honor and remembrances for this funny, precious and well-loved young man will be Thursday, February 19th at 11:00 am at New Hope Community Church, 4620 E Nees Ave, Clovis, CA, between Clovis Ave and Sunnyside Ave.

Psalm 34:18: "The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
The words of Psalm 34:18 remind us that even in the depths of our pain and sorrow, the Lord is intimately available to us. He not only understands our brokenness but also has the power to rescue us from the deepest heart pain. This verse serves as a profound assurance that God is aware of our anguish and offers His comforting presence as we navigate the path of healing.
