Edward Koehler, age 95, passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2026, following a brief illness.

On January 30th, Ed celebrated not only his birthday, but his Life and Legacy surrounded by family and friends. No further services are planned.

Edward was born in Fisk, WI to David and Maria Christina Koehler (nee Schmidt).

He was preceded in death by son Robert Koehler, two sisters and ten
brothers.

Edward is survived by his wife, Peg Sullivan and beloved yellow lab Sydney of Bass Lake, sister, Dorothy Schuester, daughter, Linda Warden. Grandsons: Bryan and James Warden, Todd and Chad Costello,Tanner Bennett, Daniel and Casey Koehler. Granddaughters: Heather and Melissa Warden-Molina and Trista Blomdahl, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed served in the United States Air Force on the DEW Line in Alaska during the Korean War. Following military service, he completed a bachelor's degree at Fresno State University. He lived in Fresno and taught 5th grade at Lincoln School in Kingsburg for over 20 years.

Ed asked Peg to dance in November of 1988. They were married on August 18,1990 at Yosemite National Park and moved to Bass Lake in 1992.

Ed believed in community service and was active in Bass Lake Lions Club International, Oakhurst Elks Lodge and was Commodore 0f Bass Lake Boat Club. He played in a Bunco Dinner Group and Pour Decision Society at Yosemite Wine Tails.

He was an avid Reader, Passionate Traveler and Loyal Friend. He loved Skip-Bo, table games with family and friends, and travel Mazatlán.

Memorable moments included San Francisco trips with grandkids and his Wedding at Yosemite during fires.

Edward's favorite charity was Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, California. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lab Rescue of Fresno.
