May Frances Wells, lovingly known as Frances, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on December 26, 1942, in Greenwood, Mississippi, she lived a life marked by devotion to family, a keen eye for treasures, and an enduring appreciation for the charm of the past.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Van Lunsford Wells, who passed on October 4, 2024. The two were married on August 10, 1963, and shared over six decades of love, laughter, and partnership.
She is survived by her son Steven and his wife Elizabeth; daughters Amanda and her wife Dannis, and Maegan and her husband Shannon; as well as Bennie, who held a special place in her heart. Frances was the cherished daughter of Walter Siebert Smith and Mattie Emma Smith.
A true collector at heart, Frances found joy in the hunt-spending countless weekends exploring garage and estate sales in search of unique pieces for her antique booths. Her passion for vintage finds was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her appreciation for history, beauty, and the stories behind every object.
Frances will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and her ability to see value where others might overlook it. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she helped preserve.
