Mayme Hartl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Memorial Chapel - East Wenatchee on Nov. 19, 2025.
Mayme Jo Hartl was born in Wenatchee, WA, on February 3, 1949, to George and Mary Etta Hartl. She was raised in Wenatchee and attended Columbia, Orchard Jr. High, and Wenatchee High School, where she graduated in 1968. Mayme earned her Associate of Arts Degree from Wenatchee Valley College. Later, she became a lab technician in Wilbur, WA, and then a lab technician for Tree Top.

Mayme married Larry Pearson, and they had one son, Shawn Dylan Pearson, who was born in 1969. They divorced, and later she married Bruce White. They also divorced.

Mayme loved to read. Her favorite author was John Steinbeck, and East of Eden was her favorite book. She always said, " if you can read, you can do anything". She also loved football. Her favorite team was the New Orleans Saints. Mayme also loved music; jazz and rock ' n ' roll were her favorites. She was a very creative person, whether it was knitting, sewing, or decorating cakes, she always excelled at it. Mayme loved to cook gourmet food, Julia Child was one of her inspirations. One of her favorite enjoyments was to travel. She especially enjoyed traveling to London and Italy.

Mayme always spoke her mind and didn't really seem to be afraid of anything. She even ventured out to do rock/ice climbing.

She passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, after an extended illness, surrounded by her family and a dear friend.

She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn; her parents; and brother, Roger. She is survived by her three sisters: Georgetta Sleeman, Trina Blankenship, and Malinda Rolen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

We love you, Sis!
