Maynard H Yoder, 82, passed away September 8, 2022. He was born December 4, 1939 in Sugarcreek, Ohio to the late Henry and Malinda (Schrock) Yoder. He moved to Sarasota in 1972 and owned Maynard H Yoder Tile, Inc.
Maynard was a long time member of Tuttle Mennonite Church which became Bahia Vista Mennonite and then Sarasota Community Church. He loved playing guitar, traveling, puzzles, going on walks and mission trips to Ecuador, Haiti and Bolivia.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Betty; daughters Teresa Troyer and her husband Dave; Kimberly Schmucker and her husband Jim; and Jennifer Shaw and her husband Darren; son, Maynard Alan Yoder; sister Carol Yoder and her husband Milton; brothers Larry Yoder and his wife Betty; and Merv Yoder; grandchildren, Shaun Troyer, Justin Troyer and his wife Lexi, Jaron Troyer, Natasha Ditchfield and her husband Andrew, Amanda Troyer, Tyler, Jordan, Brendan and Crystal Schmucker; Alexa, Trista and Lina Shaw; great grandchildren Ava, Atticus, Grace, Jacob and Noah and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Maynard was predeceased by his brother Norm.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Sarasota Community Church, 4041 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Funeral will begin at 10:30 followed by interment at Palms Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in Maynard's honor to Sarasota Community Church and to the Sunnyside Foundation, 5201 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Memories and condolences may be left for the family online at www.MFHcares.com.
