Meena Narula-loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor

Meena Narula was born September 6, 1950 in New Delhi, India. She graduated from Springdale private school and went on to study physical therapy. She married Vijay Narula on December 13, 1969. Meena and Vijay spent over 43 years of marriage together until Vijay's death in 2013. They had two children together and lived in Rochester Hills where Meena had her own physical therapy practice, Barclay Physical Therapy.

As an Oakland University graduate, Meena supported and mentored countless OU students through her practice. She was a natural leader and genuinely cared for her patients, employees and students.

Everyone who met Meena felt her energetic aura and fell in love with her quirky personality. She loved the casino, traveling, art, and shopping. But most importantly, she cherished her grandsons and loved being a Nani. Each grandson has a unique and special bond with their Nani. She held Nani camp almost every summer where the 5 boys would spend a week bonding, practicing yoga by the lake, meditating and playing games. It was such a special week for them and those memories will last a lifetime.

Meena is survived by her two brothers, Praveen (Manju) and Naveen (Neeru); her two children, Vikram (Shoma) and Shona (Joshua); her grandchildren, Jaden, Nikhil, Kyler, Rishi and Rahul; and extended family here and abroad.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 11AM at A.J. Desmond & Sons 2600 Crooks Rd. Troy (248) 362-2500. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 10AM. For the service livestream, click here.
