Megan Cullen Harthun, age 44 of Dent, MN, passed away on February 11, 2024 surrounded by family, after a long fight against pancreatic cancer.
She was born November 27, 1979 to Ronnie and Kathy Harthun. Megan grew up in rural Dent and attended school in Pelican Rapids. This is when she met her significant other, Daniel. After graduating in 1998 they moved to Fargo for two years. They then moved back to Dent and Megan took over the family farm with her sister.
While farming, Megan and Dan built a house on the hilltop that Megan had always dreamed of. This is where they began their family by welcoming their daughter, Leigha. After 16 years of adventures and struggles, the cows were sold and Megan began working at Seven Sisters Spirits. She loved this job because she enjoyed talking to and always greeting customers with a ready smile. While working there, she and Dan welcomed their son, Parker. Family was everything to Megan and she cherished her time with them dearly. Megan also loved the outdoors, camping, deer hunting, fieldwork, gardening, and hiking were just a few of her passions.
Megan is survived by her partner of 26 years, Daniel Pixley; their two children, Parker (5) and Leigha (14); mother, Kathleen Harthun; sisters, Danielle Harthun and Ashley Harthun (Eric Janorschke); nephews, Brandon and Zachary Heaton; and niece, Jadyn Janorschke; father-in-law, Dale Pixley; brother-in-law, Daryl Pixley; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Preceding Megan in death was her father, Ronnie Harthun; mother-in-law, Darlene Pixley; brothers-in-law, Doug and Dave Pixley; grandparents, John and Clara Harthun and Jake and Frances Honer.
