Megan Sara Howe

 

Megan Sara Howe was born on November 3, 1997 in Murray, Utah to Michael and Janeane Howe. Our family awaited her arrival and welcomed her with open arms and with so much love. We were so blessed to have her in our lives.  

 

Megan was full of life. She was adventurous and always ready for a new challenge. Megan was very passionate about the things she loved. Recycling was important to her because she cared deeply about the planet and environment. She was devoted to serving her local community and volunteered at the Humane Society, the food bank, and other organizations. Megan also had a great love for animals, particularly her dog and one of her best friends, Lacey. She loved nature, camping, beaches, the lake, hiking, yoga, reading, listening to podcasts, music, everything Disney, and puzzles, among many other things. Amusement parks, particularly trips to Disneyland, were some of her favorite family activities. She enjoyed creating diamond art & collecting fun socks.

 

Megan was insightful, determined, a deep thinker, and very intelligent. Megan was interested in politics and the happenings in the world. She was well versed in politics and loved discussing current world events.

 

She looked forward to family vacations and holiday traditions. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She was a great gift giver; she spent significant time searching for and selecting thoughtful gifts for others to demonstrate her love. She would also handwrite beautiful birthday notes and thank you cards to recognize others’ thoughtfulness. Megan was always ready to help wherever she could. She was fiercely loyal to her family; they were her best friends and she loved them to no end. 

 

We love Megan more than words can express and miss her greatly.  Knowing we will see her again brings us great comfort.  Megan suffered with mental illness for over 10 years and we cannot begin to comprehend the extent of her trials.  She fought courageously and was one of the bravest people we knew. We know she is at peace and can finally rest from the daily battle she faced. We invite you in Megan’s honor to reach out to someone that may be struggling and offer love, support and kindness. There are so many opportunities around us to do this. Please remember and honor Megan as you reach out to help others in their challenges. 

 

Megan was survived by her mother and father; brother, Jordan (Kimberly); sister, Chloe; nephew Theo; & many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher and her grandparents, Harold and Camille Howe & Lamoine and Marcha Freeze.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11 AM at the LDS Burton Ward, 270 W Burton Lane, Kaysville,UT 84037.  Friends and family may visit from 9:30-10:45 AM the same day. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
