Megan Marie Sheen

January 5, 1984 -November 23, 2025

We are saddened to announce the passing of our daughter Megan Marie Sheen on November 23, 2025. Megan left behind parents Kenny and Mary, sister Marci and so many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear friends.

Megan was born January 5th 1984 while mom Mary was serving in the US Navy stationed at Treasure Island California. She was born at Letterman Army Hospital at the Presidio Army Base under the Golden Gate Bridge San Francisco, California. She was immediately swept away for what would be the first of many surgeries. She was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. She would live her life as a paraplegic.

Kenny transferred with Shared Medical Systems to Philadelphia and Mary transferred to the Philadelphia Naval Station. We were able to get Megan into the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for care. She had more surgeries during our time in Pa. Our second daughter Marci was born in Phili and boy did Megan enjoy being a big sister.

After serving six years in the Navy Mary requested a discharge. We again headed west. We relocated to SLC , Utah due to the reputation of Primary Children's Hospital.

Primary Children's Hospital had a Spina Bifida Clinic that every few months provided a full day of neurological, orthopedic, ophthalmology occupational and physical therapy. Meg underwent a least twenty two surgeries while living in Utah. Megan was an Easter Seals Poster child for the state of Utah one year. We stood before some huge crowds that year with audience members screaming "we love you Megan", she sure sucked that up. She never met a stranger and would talk to anyone.

Megan's health was pretty stable and we decided to move to Elko, Nv to be near her grandparents Bill and Penny Sheen. We opened our business, Sheen Silver State Plumbing. Life was good for our family.

Megan graduated at Elko High School in 2003. She worked at Easter Seals in Elko for several years.

Megan became very ill in April 2025 and was life flighted to SLC. She spent time at St. Marks Hospital, the U of U hospital, Salt Lake Specialty Hospital, then to recover at Cascades At River Walk were she unexpectedly passed away on November 23, 2025.

Our lives will never be the same as we have lost our dear Megan who brought so much life to our family.

We pray that she is in a better place. One without a wheelchair, pain, and disappointment.

We thank everyone for the kindness to our family. We will have a private family gathering to say our good byes. Megan Sheen
