Melanie Dawn Culpepper, born on March 23, 1966, in Boone, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at home in Moultrie, Georgia, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with her brother giving the eulogy and Rev. Stacy Phillips delivering the closing prayer. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.
Mike Clifton, Brady Moretz, Mike Moretz, Dawson Gaddy, Jayce Gaddy and Randy Crenshaw will serve as pallbearers.
A proud 1984 graduate of Tift County High School, Melanie furthered her education at Moultrie Technical School, laying the groundwork for a successful career as a medical insurance specialist that would touch many lives. Throughout her life, especially during her illness she exemplified strength, compassion, and care, particularly in her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. Her six grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Melanie was cherished by her family, who included her husband, Steven Glen Culpepper; her mother, Wanda Greer Moretz Hill, alongside her husband Red Hill; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jason Willis; and her six beloved grandchildren: Rylee Caroline Gaddy, Jayce Alan Gaddy, Dawson Reid Gaddy, Brooks Willis, Hudson Willis, and Ridley Willis. She also shared a special bond with her brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Sandra Moretz.
Melanie's greatest joy was being "Mimi" to her grandchildren, and she found immense happiness in their every achievement and milestone. She loved sharing her passion for the mountains with her family, where many cherished memories were created. She shined in her role as a mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman Park, Melanie's faith was central to her life, guiding her through all her endeavors and relationships. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were privy to her warm presence and kind heart.
Melanie is preceded in death by her father, J. B. Moretz, who will forever be remembered alongside her as she continues to inspire those who loved her.
