We first met in soccer and we became like sisters. She was always comforting and we would take pictures with the group. She gave me a gift for Christmas and we felt really close. A special moment that me and Mel shared is when we first started talking in soccer and she made sure that no one was left out. Mel would always make me laugh and smile when I was sad she would always cheer me up. I will always remember when me and Melanie had a deep conversation and she told me that she's glad that we gave each other a chance as friends and then we became like sisters. Soccer reminds me of Mel because she was an amazing captain. Something I learned from Mel is to be the best version of yourself.

Dearest Belkis and Victor.......there are no words to express the depth of loss you must be feeling........ I can only offer my sincerest love and appreciation for knowing Melanie. I am so grateful to have met you and your family and be the recipient of your of many hours of loving care you have given us. I am especially grateful Melanie and Stephanie were able to attend my most recent birthday. The joy and excitement on Melanie´s face was contagious and made me feel like a kid again. I am honored to have her well wishes to me scrawled on my "guest book"........what is so sweet about this, is how Stephanie followed along with her signatureWhat a beautiful tribute to see how her Big Sister love and actions shine
With great love, Grace and Patrick
