Melanie Elaine Ruff Monk passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2025. She was born on October 4, 1966 in Dallas, Georgia to the late James H. and Dorothy Ruff.
Melanie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Greg Monk.
She is survived by her son, Blake (Ansley) McCullough and her grandson, Casey Blake. Also surviving are her sisters, Jamie Ruff and Judy Jarrett; nephew, Dillon (Sarah) Jarrett and niece, Jordan Jarrett and great niece Brynlee Jarrett.
Melanie was so excited to become a grandmother! She has always cherished her son Blake and the birth of his son brought her immense joy! Melanie was very close to her great niece, Brynlee. The two had a special bond.
Melanie was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was also an animal lover.
Melanie was a long time State of Georgia employee. During her state tenure, she worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections, the Georgia POST council and most recently she was employed by the Georgia Department of Public Safety at State Patrol Post 29 in Hiram.
She had also worked for the Bartow County Sherrif's Office.
Melanie was devoted to her family. They all loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
Funeral Services for Melanie Elaine Ruff Monk will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Tibbits officiating. Interment will follow at Dallas Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Benson Funeral Home from 12 P.M. until the time of the service at 2 P.M.
