She was born on June 21, 1946 in Texas City, Texas to Mr. Arch V. Burk and Mrs. Ruth R. Jenkins Burk. She worked as a flight attendant to Air Tran for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Commander, Jr.
Sandra is survived by special friend, Buck Cole; siblings, Jim Burk, Pat Burk, and Verdonna Brundige; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sandra Commander will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Benson Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. at Benson Funeral Home.
