Melba Hinkleman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hadley Funeral Home - Windsor on Jun. 6, 2023.
Melba Hinkleman, 79, of Windsor, Missouri, died Monday morning, June 5, 2023, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Mo.
She was born February 28, 1944, in Charleston, Mo., the daughter of Clarence Allen Morehead and Billie Imogene (Cagle) Morehead. On August 12, 1977, she married Melvin Everett Minter and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1985. On October 23, 1992, she married Robert "Bob" Francis Hinkleman in Cobden, Illinois, and he survives of the home.
Melba worked as a bookkeeper for several grocery stores. After moving to Missouri, she managed a senior citizen apartment property in Windsor for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and she and Bob taught the 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School class for 18 years. She also sang in the church choir, was active on several committees and went on water well drilling mission trips to Central America where she taught water hygiene to the children. She enjoyed gardening and canning and was optimistic about this year's tomato crop. Second only to her love for the Lord was the love she had for her family. She delighted in her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Bob, survivors include a daughter, Lisa Brown (Justin), Windsor, Mo.; 2 step-sons, Mel Minter (Melissa), Corrales, NM; and Robert Hinkleman Jr. (Julie), Baltimore, Maryland; 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Jubilee, Joy, Amanda, Rebekah, Jonathan, Jordan, Isaac, and Jacob; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Cover (Jack), Carterville, Illinois; a brother, Ricky Morehead, Hurst, Illinois; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. In addition to her husband Melvin, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter at birth; 3 brothers, Jimmy Morehead, Larry Morehead, CM Morehead; 2 sisters, Lawanda Jacquot and Judy Musgrave; and life-long friend Dorothy Frisby.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, Windsor, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. The family suggests contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
