Melba is survived by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, her children, Paul and Peter Vanderhoof, Carol Joyce (Michael) Macy, Stephanie Melba Riddle, Samuel Erskine (Angie) Johnson, Phillip Martin (Karlene) Johnson, her brothers, Geoffrey (Barbara) Williams and John Williams, and her sister, Janet (Michael) Marion. Her parents, four siblings, grandson Andrew, and sons, William David and Wendell Thelan preceded her.
